That time when Bob called and said, “I have an idea…” and it lead to a photoshoot like none other — and incredible results.
The particular idea we’re referring to led to style development and art directing a photo shoot with a fire breather, a ringmaster with a handlebar mustache (and his own dragon-themed sousaphone), and animal handler who arrived on set with an albino python and several exotic birds. Add in award-winning hair stylist Michael Albor, talented and creative makeup and wardrobe stylists, a giant circus themed backdrop, and incredible things begin to brew.
Mark was asked by Bob Packert and Sharon White to art direct a circus-themed photoshoot for client Michael Albor, owner of the Loft Salon and Day Spa in Boston, Massachusetts. The images were used for The Loft's PR campaigns and styling competitions, as promotional imagery for the models, stylists and makeup artists. A more elaborate, collaborative promotional project for White-Packert Photography and Interrobang turned into ‘Cirque du Quirk’.
Interrobang received a Creativity 39 Platinum award for the Cirque du Quirk promotional postcard series design – a collection of 13 different postcards, featuring images created over the course of a single day of shooting in Boxford, Massachusetts. In addition to art direction, Mark provided design, custom typography, and copywriting for the project.
The 39th Annual Creativity Awards received thousands of entries from 37 countries and 37 U.S. states. The competition showcases work from around the globe in the Annual Book published after the close of each year’s competition and sold in bookstores around the world.
